About Bromyard Pottery

Jonathan is a international ceramic designer and potter and has been involved in ceramics for more than 25 years. He originally studied ceramics at Swansea, then worked at Hornsea pottery before moving on to Royal Worcester where he was the senior designer. At Royal Worcester he developed designs for Tiffany's, Jamie Oliver and many of Royal Worcester own brand products. He have also designed ceramic products for John Lewis, Harrods and has had work exhibited at the V&A museum
Jonathan has been teaching ceramics for many years and gained valuable experience teaching on adult education courses and achieved teaching qualifications at the same time.
He set his pottery studio up in 2005 to share his vast knowledge and teach many aspects of the craft of pottery. He chose Bromyard Downs not only for the wonderful countryside, but also it's location close to Worcester and Hereford.
The atmosphere in Jonathan's workshop is always relaxed and friendly. Personal tuition ensures everyone gets to make something special. On half day or full day workshops potters are supplied with fresh coffee or tea and home made cakes to keep up their energy while they model and mould their clay to produce an inspiration ceramic piece.
Jonathan's good friend and fellow potter Stuart, helps on large group workshops. Stuart is especially good at teaching how to throw pots on the potters wheel. ( To date everyone has succeeded in throwing a pot!)
